Katie Wear Schutte

Katie Wear joined CPAC in the fall of 2002 while pursuing her education at the University of Missouri.  During her time at the University, she was a National Champion Golden Girl and Co-Captain her junior year.  After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Communications, she went on to pursue her Master’s degree from Stephens College in Licensed and School Counseling.  Katie began her training at the age of three in St. Charles, Missouri at the Performing Arts Centre under the direction of Tracy and Debbie Davenport.  She has studied many forms of dance, participated in numerous dance competitions, nationals, conventions and master classes around the country such as:  St. Louis Tap Festival, Dupree Tap, Jazz Tap Ensemble, NYCDA, NUVO, JUMP, Broadway Dance Center, Steps, TamJams, Dance Masters of America, Shake the Floor, and LA Underground.  Katie was a member of the Dance Company of St. Charles for eight years.  She has performed at the Muny Opera in “Sleeping Beauty” and participated as an “Oriental” in the Les Grands Canadians Ballet’s Nutcracker at the Fox Theater in St. Louis.  Her television credits include dancing segments for local St. Louis and Columbia News channels, Fox Sports Midwest commercial and ESPN.  Since katie joined CPAC, her focus has been teaching tap and choreography but she has taught jazz, ballet, and private lessons for dance team auditions.  She has assisted at dance conventions, won choreography awards, and has had many students receive tap scholarships under her direction.  Katie loves CPAC and is blessed to be a part of such a wonderful studio.
