Kayla Ferguson

Kayla began her dancing career at the age of three at Columbia Performing Arts Centre. Her interest in tap dance took off about four years later. Kayla was on CPAC’s Ensemble competition team starting at the age of ten until she graduated from high school in 2022. Being on the Ensemble team gave her many opportunities and experiences including winning back-to-back National Titles at The Dance Awards in Las Vegas. Over the years, Kayla has attended multiple tap dance intensives like the DancerPalooza American Tap Festival and multiple Saint Louis Tap Festivals. In 2020, Kayla was one of 25 tap dancers accepted into the American Tap Conservatory based out of Chicago. In both 2022 and 2023, Kayla attended the Tap Music Project under the artistic direction of Sarah Reich. Here, Kayla studied music theory, choreography, improvisation, and much more. Over the years, Kayla has had the pleasure to work with and learn from many other professional tap dancers like Nico Rubio, Star Dixon, Matthew Shields, Chloe Arnold, and Anthony Russo, to name a few. She is now a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia, majoring in Health Science with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Sciences. She is also minoring in Human Development and Family Sciences on her way to pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy. When she is not studying or dancing, you can find her working at Peak Sport and Spine Physical Therapy. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and going to concerts. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family and loves to talk about human anatomy!
