STUDIO UPDATES

Open Curtain Week: March 9–12

Parents are welcome to observe recreational classes during this week.

• Studios 1, 2, and 3: Curtains will be open for viewing
• Studios 5–6 (East Wing): Classes displayed on TV monitors
• Studio 4: Parents may come upstairs
• Competition classes and rehearsals remain closed to observation.

Bring a Friend Week: March 16–19

Students in the following classes may bring one friend to participate in class:

• Movement for Children (Ages 3–4)
• Dance I (Ages 4–5)
• Dance II (Ages 5–6)
• Dance III (Ages 6–7)
• Intro Levels – Ballet, Tap, Jazz (Ages 6–9)

Friends should be close in age and wear comfortable clothing. No dance experience or special shoes are required.

• We will offer a 4-week June session for dancers ages 2–10.

CPAC COMPETITION SEASON BEGINS!

Please join us in wishing all our CPAC competition dancers all the best this month. Our Ensemble team will compete at New York City Dance Alliance and Press Play, and our Troupe & MiniTroop teams will kick off their season at Showstopper! Huge congrats to our incredible faculty, competition staff, and our costume shop for all their hard work to get our dancers ready for their season! CHAKA, WERK, LOVE!

REMINDER: CLASSES IN SESSION

Classes ARE in session on Monday, February 16 (President’s Day). Our next break at CPAC is Spring Break. CPAC will be closed March 21 – March 29, 2026. Classes resume Monday, March 30.

MONDAY, JANUARY 26 SNOW DAY MAKEUP CLASS

We will make up all Monday-only classes on Friday, February 20, at your regularly scheduled Monday class time. Please note: The Collective competition team will be receiving a revised schedule for that weekend, and our Ensemble Makeup Ballet class already scheduled for that day will be rescheduled to April. Details to follow soon to both teams with regards to the changes due to our makeup Snow Day classes to be held Friday, February 20, for all Monday classes.

All students are required to attend Dress Rehearsal the week of May 11 – 14, 2026. Dress rehearsal details will be announced after spring break.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES

The Winter months are upon us, and that brings the possibility of severe weather and cancelled classes.  We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools do.  We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 2:00pm for weekday classes. We will send out an EMAIL to everyone when classes are cancelled. We will also post any updates to Facebook (CPAC – Columbia Performing Arts Centre) and Instagram (Columbiaperformingartscentre)

SPRING RECITAL COSTUME FEES ARE DUE DECEMBER 1, 2025

2026 Spring Recital costume fees have been posted to all accounts. The Spring Recital performances are May 15, 16, & 17, 2026, tickets $20 (includes processing fee).  Please review the breakdown sent in the Spring Recital email on November 10 to confirm which day and time your dancer performs (please note this is not the actual order of each performance).

Log in to your online account to make a payment or call our office at 441-1818 between 4:30 – 8:30 Monday through Thursday.

Spring Recital Costume fee payments are non-refundable.

If you are declining recital participation, we MUST receive written notice at cpac@cpac-dance.com no later than December 1 to remove the costume fees charged.

NOVEMBER TODDLER REGISTRATION – WINTER SESSION (JAN – MAY 2026)

Returning Toddlers currently enrolled in our 2-year-old 30-minute Toddler Class with Ms. Candace or Ms. Britney MUST register AGAIN in order to continue with the January – May session! 

Current CPAC families may register beginning Thursday, November 13 at 5:30 pm thru Monday, November 17 at 5:00 pm. Registration will be via the parent portal – more details to come.  Login and password will be required.

Registration for NEW Toddler families to CPAC opens Monday, November 17 at 5:30 pm.

Instructions will be available on the Schedule page of our website at that time.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

HOLIDAY RECITAL – CPAC CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
Holiday Recital for Movement, Dance I, Dance II, & Dance III will be held on December 8, 9, 10, & 11.

Performances will begin promptly at 6 pm each evening. Dancers will perform once only on the same night as their normal class day.

Dancers will be receiving their holiday costumes to take home later in November, as well as a note from their teacher with details regarding hair and costume pieces, in-class dress rehearsal, and additional performance details.

• We will have four individual performances the week of December 8-11 with a 6 pm start time. Your dancer will perform ONLY on the day of the week they normally dance each week.
• Your dancer will NOT have their regular class that week if they are performing in the Holiday recital.
• The Holiday Recital takes the place of your final class for the semester for our Movement, Dance I, Dance II, and Dance III classes.
• Tickets are not required! Bring your family & friends to enjoy this great performance!

CPAC Fall Newsletter

HALLOWEEN WEEK OCTOBER 27-30
Dancers may wear their Halloween costumes to class the week of October 27-30! Make sure it is something you can dance in. If your Ballet class meets twice a week, your ballet instructor will let you know which day to wear your costume.

SAFETY REMINDER
The fall weather is now upon us, and it will start to get dark earlier. For the safety of all students, dancers should remain inside the building as they wait for their ride after class.
Please be sure to coordinate a pickup location with your dancer when you drop off for classes.
If your younger dancer has a class in Studios 5 or 6, please be in the Lobby a few minutes prior to class dismissal so your little one can find you immediately upon release from the classroom.

LABOR DAY MAKE-UP CLASS
Classes are in session on Monday, November 24 at their usual times. CPAC is closed November 25-30 for Thanksgiving break.

UNPAID TUITION? MONTHLY FINANCE CHARGES
All unpaid recreational class tuition has now been increased to full price. Beginning October 1st, any overdue tuition balances will incur a 10% monthly finance charge. All account balances must be paid in full by January 5.

MONTHLY INVOICES
CPAC invoices are sent out on the 5th of each month, and payment is due by the last day of the month.

Welcome to Our 2025-2026 Season! 

Welcome back! We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and are as excited as we are to begin another incredible season at Columbia Performing Arts Centre. Before classes resume, we encourage you to take a few moments to review our August News for important updates and reminders. 

Our Ensemble Competition dancers have already returned to the studio and are preparing for an amazing year ahead. We can’t wait to see the rest of our dancers back in the studio starting next week for the 2025–2026 season!

CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 18

We look forward to seeing all of our dancers for the first week of classes starting next week! 

Ensemble dancers will begin classes on Monday, August 25. Check your email and BAND for further communication around auditions, rehearsals, and classes that week. 

DANCEWEAR BOUTIQUE HOURS 

Need dancewear or shoes for classes?  Visit our Curriculum page for specifics regarding your child’s classroom attire. We encourage you to visit the dancewear boutique in our EAST Lobby. We will open Monday, August 11 – Wednesday, August 13 from 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm prior to the first week of classes.  Boutique hours starting August 18 will be 4:30 – 8 pm. Please be prepared for long lines. We appreciate your patience in advance!

NO CLASSES LABOR DAY

There will be no classes on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. Normal classes resume Tuesday, September 2. 

TUITION DISCOUNT DEADLINE: AUGUST 22

Tuition paid in full by August 22 receives the 20% discount. Discounted tuition amounts are posted on accounts. Any unpaid tuition will increase to full price on August 23. Beginning October 1st, unpaid tuition will accrue a monthly 10% finance charge until paid in full.

MONTHY INVOICING

CPAC statements will be sent out on the 5^th of each month beginning in September. All August invoices have now been sent as of today. Please note the following as you log into your portal to review your balance as of today:

Payment Deadlines for Competition Dancers:

• All competition family balances are due in full on the final day of each month.
• All convention/competition fees are due in full two weeks prior to attending a competition.

Payment Deadlines for Recreational Dancers/Classes:

• At least ½ tuition is due by Monday, August 18, 2025
• Final ½ due by January 5, 2026
• 10% monthly finance charge applies to all overdue balances
• Spring Recital costume fees will be posted to all recreational dancer accounts in October and are due by December 1, 2025.

CPAC COLLECTIVE AUDITIONS (AGES 9+)

Auditions for CPAC Collective will be held Saturday, September 13, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Audition packets will be available the week of August 25 by emailing competition@cpac-dance.com to request a packet or stop by the front desk to pick up an audition packet that week.

ACCOUNT BALANCES

SPRING RECITAL TICKET SALES INFORMATION

Spring Recital ticket purchases will be online only again this year. 4 tickets per family performing in each show will go on sale Electronically with your family code beginning Friday, April 11 at 5:00 pm and closing Monday, May 5 at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each, and this includes the electronic processing fee.

Each family performing in each performance will receive an email (multiple emails if you are in multiple shows) with a code specific to your family to purchase up to your 4 tickets for the performance. The email will be from Columbia Performing Arts Centre: noreply@jackrabbittech.com. Please check your junk folders and your inbox. All codes/emails will be sent no later than Thursday, April 10.

All codes not utilized and all remaining tickets for each performance will go on sale electronically on Monday, May 5, at 5:00 pm.

2025-2026 COMPETITION AUDITIONS
