Welcome to September! Please find below a summary of our CPAC monthly highlights to include our Ensemble car wash, Collective audition details, unpaid tuition, monthly invoices, Halloween, Thanksgiving week of classes, safety, parental supervision, Holiday Recitals, and boutique hours.

ENSEMBLE CAR WASH
Saturday, September 16, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in our Southeast parking lot. Please come and support our competition team’s first fundraiser of the season!

CPAC COLLECTIVE AUDITIONS (AGES 10+)
Auditions for CPAC Collective will be held Saturday, September 16, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Audition Sign-Up Deadline is Wednesday, September 13. Please visit the CPAC Collective page for additional information. All questions should be directed to competition@cpac-dance.com.

UNPAID TUITION? MONTHLY FINANCE CHARGES
All unpaid recreational class tuition has now been increased to full price. Beginning October 1st, any tuition balances remaining will incur a 10% monthly finance charge until the tuition fees are paid in full. All account balances must be paid in full by April 1st.

MONTHLY INVOICES
Recreation families will receive their monthly CPAC invoices by the 15th of each month with payment due upon receipt.

HALLOWEEN
No classes or rehearsals will be held on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31! We will have our Halloween costume celebration the week of October 23-26, details to follow in October!

LABOR DAY MAKE-UP CLASS
Classes are in session on Monday, November 20 at their usual times. CPAC is closed November 21 – 26 for Thanksgiving break.

SAFETY
The fall weather will soon be upon us, and it will start to get dark earlier. For the safety of all students, dancers should remain inside the building as they wait for their ride after class.
Please be sure to coordinate a pickup location with your dancer when you drop off for classes.
If your younger dancer has a class in Studios 5 or 6, please be in the Lobby a few minutes prior to class dismissal so your little one can find you immediately upon release from the classroom.

PARENTAL SUPERVISION
When dancers are not in class, please remember that your children are your responsibility at all times and require your supervision. We appreciate your attention to your dancers when they are on breaks between classes, as well as your supervision of additional siblings. Thank you for reminding them to treat the facility and those around you with respect and appropriate behavior, including no running in the building, playing with balls inside of the building, etc.
Parents, please take extra caution in the parking lots and drive slowly, watching for those entering/exiting the facility. Please use the North circle drive, the East drive closest to the soccer field, or the entrance/exit by Jimmy John’s to access the parking lots. Try to avoid driving between the rear of the studio and the Veterans United building if possible. Additionally, we appreciate you leaving the Handicapped spaces vacant unless you have the appropriate documentation.

HOLIDAY RECITAL
Holiday Recital for Movement, Dance I, Dance II, & Dance III will be held December 11, 12, 13 & 14. Performances will begin promptly at 6 pm each evening. Details to follow this week to our Children’s Program families with further information.

Welcome to CPAC’s 2023 – 2024 Season!

CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 21! 

We look forward to seeing dancers for the first week of classes!

DANCEWEAR BOUTIQUE HOURS 

Need dancewear or shoes? Visit our curriculum page for specifics regarding your dancer’s class attire. We encourage you to visit the boutique in our EAST lobby. We will open Monday, August 14 – Thursday, August 17 from 4:30 – 7:00 pm prior to the first week of classes. Boutique hours starting August 21 will be 4:30 – 8:00 pm. Please be prepared for long lines and we appreciate your patience in advance. 

TUITION DISCOUNT DEADLINE: AUGUST 25

Tuition paid in full by August 25 receives the 20% discount. Discounted tuition amounts are already posted on accounts. Any unpaid tuition will increase to full price on August 26. Beginning October 1st, unpaid tuition will accrue a monthly 10% finance charge.

CPAC COLLECTIVE AUDITIONS (AGES 10+)

Auditions for CPAC Collective will be held Saturday, September 16, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Audition Sign-Up Deadline is Wednesday, September 13. Please visit the CPAC Collective page for additional information. All questions should be directed to competition@cpac-dance.com.

ONLINE ACCOUNT ACCESS

Make payments, view your child’s schedule, teacher, and studio number, as well as update your contact information at your convenience via the CPAC app. Please note if you opt out of CPAC emails by clicking unsubscribe, you will no longer receive studio updates. 

NO CLASSES LABOR DAY

There will be no classes on Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. Normal classes resume Tuesday, September 5.

DECEMBER 2022

Happy Holidays to all of our CPAC Dancers & Families! Our last day of CPAC classes will be Thursday, December 15 and we will return to classes on Monday, January 2, 2023! 

CPAC NORTH DRIVE IS NOW OPEN

Thank you for your patience as we had our repairs made on our driveway and sidewalks! All entrances are now back to normal.

UNPAID TUITION?  MONTHLY FINANCE CHARGES

All unpaid tuition will incur a 10% monthly finance charge until the tuition fees are paid in full. All account balances must be paid in full by April 1,  2023.  

MONTHLY INVOICES

Monthly CPAC invoices will be sent out by the 15th of each month with payment due upon receipt. Please check your invoices, review account balances, and make payments via the portal.

HOLIDAY RECITAL – CPAC CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

Holiday Recital for Movement, Dance I, Dance II, & Dance III will be held on December 12, 13, 14, & 15. Performances will begin promptly at 6 pm each evening. Dancers will have dress rehearsal during class time, December 5 – December 9.

We will have four individual performances the week of December 12-15 with a 6 pm start time, a 5:45 dancer drop-off time. Your dancer will perform on the day of the week they normally dance each week, and Friday classes will perform on Thursday. No Tickets are necessary. We will add a $5 fee to each Holiday Costume Fee and donate all funds to the Voluntary Action Center and the Columbia Spay & Neuter Project. The Holiday Recital takes the place of your final class for the semester for our Movement, Dance I, Dance II, and Dance III classes.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES

The winter months will be upon us soon and that brings the possibility of winter weather and canceled classes. We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools cancel. We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 1:00 pm. We will send out AN EMAIL to everyone when classes are canceled. NOVEMBER 2022 NEWSLETTER

CPAC NORTH DRIVE CLOSED

We will be having work done on our North driveway beginning Wednesday, November 9, and ending Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

We will need all dancers to enter & exit the CPAC building via the South Parking Lot Entrance facing Jimmy Johns. Please make arrangements with your dancer for drop off and pick up utilizing the South parking lot. 

SPRING RECITAL COSTUME FEES ARE DUE DECEMBER 1, 2022

2023 Spring Recital costume fees have been posted to all accounts. The Spring Recital performances are May 12, 13 & 14, 2023. Please review the breakdown sent via email on November 7 of which classes perform in each performance (please note this is not the actual order of each performance).

At least one costume fee PER CHILD must be paid on or before December 1, 2022, in order to ensure your child’s participation in the May 2023 performances. Please note that hip-hop classes are not charged a costume fee because they do costumes on their own. Please login to your online account to make a payment or call our office at 441-1818 between 4:30 – 8:30 Monday through Thursday.

If you are declining recital participation, we must receive written notice at cpac@cpac-dance.com no later than December 1 to remove the costume fees charged.

NOVEMBER TODDLER REGISTRATION – WINTER SESSION (JAN – MAY 2023)

Returning Toddlers currently enrolled in our 2-year-old 30-minute Toddler Class with Ms. Candace MUST register AGAIN in order to continue with the January – May session!  Current CPAC families may register beginning Thursday, November 17 at 5:00 pm. Registration will be via the parent portal – more details to come.  Login and password will be required. Registration for NEW Toddlers opens Monday, November 21 at 5:00 pm.  Instructions will be available on the Schedule page of our website at that time.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

Dancers may wear their Halloween costumes to class the week of October 24-28!  Make sure it is something you can dance in.  If your Ballet class meets twice a week, only wear your costume on Wednesday or Thursday.

March 2022

CPAC HANDICAP PARKING

Please note that all handicap parking spots are reserved for individuals with a handicap license plate and/or tag. Please do not park and/or drop off & pick up in these spots if you do not have the correct permit to park.

 

MARCH 21 – 25: OPEN CURTAIN WEEK

Parents are welcome to observe classes the week of March 21-25.  Instructors will open all curtains for viewing in Studios 1, 2, and 3. Classes in our new East Wing (studios 5-6) will be displayed on the monitors as usual.  Classes in Studio 4 parents may come upstairs for the final 15 minutes of class. Competition classes and rehearsals are closed to observation.

 

MARCH & APRIL COMPETITION TEAM UPDATES

Following an absolutely amazing showcase performance weekend of our competition team, they are now off to Chicago, Des Moines, & Kansas City in March & April. We wish them all the best and are so proud of all of our Ensemble, Troupe, Minitroop & Collective dancers!  

 

ALL ACCOUNT BALANCES ARE DUE BY APRIL 1

All account balances are due no later than April 1st. Please note that registration for Fall 2022 – Winter 2023 cannot occur if your balance is not paid in full at the time of registration.

 

SPRING BREAK – STUDIO CLOSED

The studio will be closed for spring break beginning Saturday, March 26 – Sunday, April 3. We hope everyone has a wonderful break!

 

2022 SUMMER CLASSES

Want to dance during the month of June?  We are offering a short 4-week session for dancers ages 2-10! Please visit our Schedule page in April for class offerings, pricing, dates, and enrollment information.

 

THURSDAY SNOW DAY MAKEUP CLASS

Due to the number of snow days that fell on Thursday this winter season, we will be offering a makeup day for Thursday classes. Recreational classes will attend on Saturday, April 9, with details to follow next week on class times. Ensemble classes will attend Monday, May 9, at their regularly scheduled Thursday class time.

 

SPRING RECITALS AND CLASS ATTENDANCE

Students who acquire more than 3 absences (per class) from March 1 through May 6 may not be allowed to participate in the Spring Recital Performances.

 

SPRING RECITAL PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

Spring Recital Dates: May 13, 14, & 15. You can review the performance schedule here (please note this is not the show order for each performance).

Dress Rehearsal Week: May 9 – May 12, detailed information to follow after spring break.

4 tickets per family performing in each show will go on sale on April 11. Tickets are $15 each.

All tickets will go on sale to the public on May 2. Any family tickets not purchased by April 29, will be open to the public for purchase at this time.

 

ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS: DEADLINE MAY 3

Dancers interested in auditioning for our Ensemble program must register by May 3.  Email competition@cpac-dance.com to request an information packet and registration forms. Audition packets will be available in April. Ensemble auditions will be held May 3 – 9.

 

TROUPE AUDITIONS: DEADLINE MAY 3

Do you have a dancer age 6-9 who is interested in our competitive programs? Our Troupe auditions for the 22-23 season will take place on Saturday, May 7! MINITROOP AUDITIONS: DEADLINE MAY 3

Do you have a dancer age 4-5 who is interested in our competitive programs? Our MiniTroop auditions for the 22-23 season will take place on Saturday, May 7! 2022 SUMMER DANCE CAMP

Registration for Ms. Candace’s Summer Dance Camp is now open!

  • June 6 – 10, 3 & 4 year olds: 9am-Noon $150
  • June 13 – 17, 5 year olds: 9am-Noon $150
  • June 20-24: 6, 7 & 8 year olds: 9am-Noon $150
  • June 27-July 1: 6,7,8 year olds: 9am-Noon $150

HOLIDAY PERFORMANCES – Movement, Dance I, Dance II & Dance III Dancers

In order to celebrate our youngest dancers and the holiday season, we will be having our Holiday performances this week for our Movement for Children, Dance I, Dance II, and Dance III classes (Toddler classes do NOT perform, however will have class this week).

Holiday Shows: December 13-16

  • Holiday Recital Performance List
  • Movement, Dance I, Dance II, & Dance III students will NOT have their regular class this week. 
  • Classes will perform in 15-minute time slots with spectators limited to friends and family of that specific class as well as designated traffic flow entering and exiting the building.
  • Your dancer will perform the same night of the week that they have class EXCEPT Friday classes will perform on December 16.
  • No tickets will be necessary.
  • You may bring your video cameras and regular cameras.
  • No live stream performances or professional videos will be available for purchase.

The winter months are upon us and that brings the possibility of severe weather and canceled classes. We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools does. We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 1:00 pm. We will send out EMAIL to everyone when classes are canceled. MONTHLY FINANCE CHARGES

Any tuition balances remaining will incur a 10% monthly finance charge until the tuition fees are paid in full. All account balances must be paid in full by April 1st.

COMPETITION SEASON KICKS OFF AT NYCDA!
Our Competition Season is kicking off with our Ensemble team attending NYCDA in Kansas City November 19! We are so proud of all our dancers and wish each of them the best of luck!

 

THANKSGIVING BREAK: NOVEMBER 23-28
CPAC will be closed Tuesday, November 23 – Sunday, November 28 for Thanksgiving break. Please note that classes ARE in session on Monday, November 22 as a make-up for Labor Day.

 

TODDLER REGISTRATION- WINTER SESSION
Returning Toddlers MUST register AGAIN in order to continue with the January – May session! Returning students may register beginning Thursday, November 18 at 5:00 pm. Registration will be via the parent portal – more details to come. Login and password will be required.

Registration for NEW Toddlers opens Monday, November 22 at 5:00 pm. Instructions will be available on the Schedule page of our website at that time. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

 

HOLIDAY RECITALS
In order to celebrate our youngest dancers and the holiday season, we will be having our Holiday Recitals in December for our Movement for Children, Dance I, Dance II, and Dance III classes (Toddler classes do NOT perform).

Dancers will be receiving their holiday costumes to take home the week of November 15 as well as a note from their teacher with details regarding hair and costume pieces, in-class dress rehearsal, and their performance. These notes will also be emailed out to each class.

In-Class Dress Rehearsal: December 6-10. Please have your child dressed in their costume for dance class that week. This is simply another time for dancers to get to wear their costumes and practice on stage. Parents are welcome to attend dress rehearsal. Masks are required in our building.

Holiday Shows: December 13-16 

Holiday Recital Performance List
• Your dancer will NOT have their regular class that week if they are performing in the Holiday show.
• Classes will perform in 15-minute time slots with spectators limited to friends and family of that specific class as well as designated traffic flow entering and exiting the building.
• The performance takes the place of your final class for the semester.
• Teachers will provide more information regarding holiday costumes in the coming weeks.
• Holiday costume fees typically range from $20-$30 depending on teacher selections.
• Your dancer will perform the same night of the week that they have class EXCEPT Friday classes will perform on December 16. 
• No tickets will be necessary.
• You may bring your video cameras and regular cameras.
• No live stream performances or professional videos will be available for purchase.
