NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

SPRING RECITAL COSTUME FEES ARE DUE DECEMBER 1, 2024

2025 Spring Recital costume fees have been posted to all accounts. The Spring Recital performances are May 16, 17, & 18, 2025.  Please review the breakdown sent in the Spring Recital email on November 4 to confirm which day and time your dancer performs (please note this is not the actual order of each performance).

At least one Spring Recital costume fee PER CHILD must be paid on or before December 1, 2024, in order to ensure your child’s participation in the May 2025 performances. Please note that hip-hop classes are not charged a costume fee because they do costumes on their own. Log in to your online account to make a payment or call our office at 441-1818 between 4:30 – 8:30 Monday through Thursday. Costume fee payments are non-refundable. If you are declining recital participation, we MUST receive written notice at cpac@cpac-dance.com no later than December 1 to remove the costume fees charged.

NOVEMBER TODDLER REGISTRATION – WINTER SESSION (JAN – MAY 2025)

Returning Toddlers currently enrolled in our 2-year-old 30-minute Toddler Class with Ms. Candace or Ms. Britney MUST register AGAIN in order to continue with the January – May session! 

Current CPAC families may register beginning Thursday, November 14 at 5:30 pm thru Monday, November 18 at 5:00 pm. Registration will be via the parent portal – more details to come.  Login and password will be required. Registration for NEW Toddler CPAC Families opens Monday, November 18 at 5:30 pm. Instructions will be available on the Schedule page of our website at that time. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

HOLIDAY RECITAL – CPAC CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

Holiday Recital for Movement, Dance I, Dance II, & Dance III will be held on December 9, 10, 11 & 12. Performances will begin promptly at 6 pm each evening. Dancers will perform one time only on the same night as their normal class day.

Dancers will be receiving their holiday costumes to take home later in November, as well as a note from their teacher with details regarding hair and costume pieces, in-class dress rehearsal, and additional performance details.

  • We will have four individual performances the week of December 9-12 with a 6 pm start time. Your dancer will perform ONLY on the day of the week they normally dance each week.
  • Your dancer will NOT have their regular class that week if they are performing in the Holiday recital.
  • The Holiday Recital takes the place of your final class for the semester for our Movement, Dance I, Dance II, and Dance III classes.
  • Tickets are not required! Bring your family & friends to enjoy this great performance!

MONTHLY INVOICES

CPAC invoices are emailed on the 5th of each month. The full account balance is due by the final day of the month.

OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

HALLOWEEN WEEK OCTOBER 21-25

Dancers may wear their Halloween costumes to class the week of October 21-25!  Make sure it is something you can dance in. If your Ballet class meets twice a week, your ballet instructor will let you know which day to wear your costume.

HALLOWEEN

No classes or rehearsals, including Troupe classes and rehearsals and Ensemble classes and rehearsals, will be held on Halloween, Thursday, October 31! CPAC will be closed for all day and evening classes and rehearsals on October 31. Enjoy your Halloween everyone!

SAFETY REMINDER
The fall weather is now upon us, and it will start to get dark earlier. For the safety of all students, dancers should remain inside the building as they wait for their ride after class.

Please be sure to coordinate a pickup location with your dancer when you drop off for classes.

If your younger dancer has a class in Studios 5 or 6, please be in the Lobby a few minutes prior to class dismissal so your little one can find you immediately upon release from the classroom.

When dancers are not in class, please remember that your children are your responsibility at all times and require your supervision. We appreciate your attention to your dancers when they are on breaks between classes, as well as your supervision of additional siblings. Thank you for reminding them to treat the facility and those around you with respect and appropriate behavior.

Welcome to September! Below is a summary of our CPAC monthly highlights including our Collective audition details, CPAC Merchandise Online store, unpaid tuition, monthly invoices, Halloween, Thanksgiving week of classes, safety, parental supervision, Holiday Recitals, and boutique hours. 

CPAC COLLECTIVE AUDITIONS (AGES 9+)

Auditions for CPAC Collective will be held Saturday, September 14, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Audition Sign-Up Deadline is Wednesday, September 11. Please visit the CPAC Collective page for additional information. All questions should be directed to competition@cpac-dance.com.

CPAC ONLINE STORE FOR MERCH NOW OPEN! 

We have launched our online Merch store to purchase CPAC apparel! Follow this link https://cpacspiritwear2024.itemorder.com/ to place your order. The store will close on Friday, September 20. All purchases for CPAC merch must be made by Friday, September 20. 

UNPAID TUITION?  MONTHLY FINANCE CHARGES

All unpaid recreational class tuition has now been increased to full price. Beginning October 1st, any tuition balances remaining will incur a 10% monthly finance charge until the tuition fees are paid in full. All account balances must be paid in full by April 1st.

MONTHLY INVOICES

CPAC families will receive their monthly CPAC invoices by the 5th of each month with payment due by the final day of the month.

HALLOWEEN

Welcome to Our 2024-2025 Season!

CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 19! 

We look forward to seeing dancers for the first week of classes!

DANCEWEAR BOUTIQUE HOURS 

Need dancewear or shoes for classes?  Visit our Curriculum page for specifics regarding your child’s classroom attire. We encourage you to visit the dancewear boutique in our EAST Lobby. We will open Tuesday, August 13 through Thursday, August 15 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm prior to the first week of classes.  Boutique hours starting August 19 will be 4:30 – 8 pm. Please be prepared for long lines. We appreciate your patience in advance.

NO CLASSES LABOR DAY

There will be no classes on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Normal classes resume on Tuesday, September 3. 

TUITION DISCOUNT DEADLINE: AUGUST 23

Tuition paid in full by August 23 receives the 20% discount. Discounted tuition amounts are already posted on accounts. Any unpaid tuition will increase to full price on August 24. Beginning October 1st, unpaid tuition will accrue a monthly 10% finance charge until paid in full.

MONTHLY INVOICING

CPAC statements will be sent out on the 5th of each month with payment due in full by the final day of the month.

ALL ACCOUNT BALANCES DUE BY APRIL 1

All recreational account balances are due no later than April 1st. Please note that you will not receive your spring recital code to purchase up to your 4 tickets if your balance is not paid in full. 

Account balances must be paid in full to be eligible to audition for the 24-25 Competition Teams.

 

2024 SUMMER CLASSES

Want to dance with us June 11 – July 3?  We are offering a short 4 week session for dancers ages 2-14! Please visit our Summer Schedule page for class offerings, pricing, dates, and enrollment information.-

Current family enrollment for summer classes only will open online April 3 at 5 pm and close April 5 at 8 am.

 

SPRING RECITALS AND CLASS ATTENDANCE

Students who acquire more than 3 absences (per class) now through May 10 may not be allowed to participate in the Spring Recital Performances (illness and weather-related absences do not count). Please communicate all absences to cpac@cpac-dance.com.

 

SPRING RECITAL PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

Dress Rehearsal Week: May 13 – May 16, detailed information will be handed out in classes next week!

SPRING RECITAL TICKET SALES INFORMATION

We are excited to share we are moving to an online ticketing program for Spring Recital. 4 tickets per family performing in each show will go on sale Electronically beginning Monday, April 8 at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $16 each and this includes the electronic processing fee.

Each family performing in each performance will receive an email (multiple emails if you are in multiple shows) with a code specific to your family to purchase up to your 4 tickets for the performance. The email will come from Columbia Performing Arts Centre noreply@jackrabbittech.com. Please check your junk folders and your inbox. Our goal is to have all codes/emails sent by Monday, April 8. 

All codes not utilized and all remaining tickets for each performance will go on sale electronically Monday, May 6 at 5:00 pm to all.

MARCH 2024

MARCH 4 – MARCH 7: OPEN CURTAIN WEEK

Parents are welcome to observe recreational classes the week of March 4 – 7.  Instructors will open all curtains for viewing in Studios 1, 2, and 3. Classes in our East Wing (studios 5-6) will be displayed on the TV monitors as usual.  Classes in Studio 4 – parents may come upstairs for the final 15 minutes of class. Competition classes and rehearsals are closed to observation.

 

BRING A FRIEND WEEK: Movement, Dance I, Dance II, Dance III, Intro

Dancers in the following classes may bring 1 friend to dance March 18 – March 21. *No dance experience or dance shoes needed. *Friends should be close in age to registered dancers and wear comfy clothes. In-Class fun AND a boutique coupon are included for CPAC dancers bringing a friend and their friend!

CPAC COMPETITION SEASON CONTINUES

Please join us in wishing all of our CPAC competition dancers all the best this month! Ensemble will be competing at Revive in Kansas City February 16 – 18; Troupe, Minitroop, and Collective will kick off their season at Starpower in Kansas City February 16 – 18. CHAKA!

Welcome back, Dancers! We hope you had an amazing first week back at CPAC! CPAC COMPETITION SEASON BEGINS

CLASSES IN SESSION

Classes ARE in session on Monday, January 15 (Martin Luther King Jr Day) & Monday, February 19, 2024 (President’s Day).  Our next break at CPAC is Spring Break. CPAC will be closed March 23 – March 31, 2024.  Classes resume Monday, April 1. 

MONDAY, JANUARY 8 SNOW DAY MAKEUP CLASS 

We will make up all Monday Classes ONLY (no rehearsals) on Friday, February 2. Classes will be in session that evening at the same time as your normal Monday class schedule. Collective will have an adjusted rehearsal schedule to accommodate the Snow Day Make Up Classes on Friday, February 2, details TBA.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES

The Winter months are upon us and that brings the possibility of severe weather and cancelled classes.  We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools does.  We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 1:00pm for weekday classes. We will send out EMAIL to everyone when classes are cancelled. We will also post any updates to Facebook (CPAC – Columbia Performing Arts Centre) and Instagram (Columbiaperformingartscentre)
