AUGUST 2025 NEWSLETTER

Welcome to Our 2025-2026 Season! 

Welcome back! We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and are as excited as we are to begin another incredible season at Columbia Performing Arts Centre. Before classes resume, we encourage you to take a few moments to review our August News for important updates and reminders. 

Our Ensemble Competition dancers have already returned to the studio and are preparing for an amazing year ahead. We can’t wait to see the rest of our dancers back in the studio starting next week for the 2025–2026 season!

CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 18

We look forward to seeing all of our dancers for the first week of classes starting next week! 

Ensemble dancers will begin classes on Monday, August 25. Check your email and BAND for further communication around auditions, rehearsals, and classes that week. 

 

DANCEWEAR BOUTIQUE HOURS 

Need dancewear or shoes for classes?  Visit our Curriculum page for specifics regarding your child’s classroom attire. We encourage you to visit the dancewear boutique in our EAST Lobby. We will open Monday, August 11 – Wednesday, August 13 from 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm prior to the first week of classes.  Boutique hours starting August 18 will be 4:30 – 8 pm. Please be prepared for long lines. We appreciate your patience in advance!

 

CPAC ONLINE STORE FOR MERCH OPENING THIS WEEK 

Watch your email for further details about purchasing your CPAC apparel via our online CPAC Merch Store! We have CPAC T-shirts, hoodies, zip-ups, and Mom & Dad apparel coming soon!

 

NO CLASSES LABOR DAY

There will be no classes on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. Normal classes resume Tuesday, September 2. 

 

TUITION DISCOUNT DEADLINE: AUGUST 22

Tuition paid in full by August 22 receives the 20% discount. Discounted tuition amounts are posted on accounts. Any unpaid tuition will increase to full price on August 23. Beginning October 1st, unpaid tuition will accrue a monthly 10% finance charge until paid in full.

 

MONTHY INVOICING

CPAC statements will be sent out on the 5th of each month beginning in September. All August invoices have now been sent as of today. Please note the following as you log into your portal to review your balance as of today:

Payment Deadlines for Competition Dancers:

  • All competition family balances are due in full on the final day of each month.
  • All convention/competition fees are due in full two weeks prior to attending a competition.

Payment Deadlines for Recreational Dancers/Classes:

  • At least ½ tuition is due by Monday, August 18, 2025
  • Final ½ due by January 5, 2026
  • 10% monthly finance charge applies to all overdue balances
  • Spring Recital costume fees will be posted to all recreational dancer accounts in October and are due by December 1, 2025.

CPAC COLLECTIVE AUDITIONS (AGES 9+)

Auditions for CPAC Collective will be held Saturday, September 13, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Audition packets will be available the week of August 25 by emailing competition@cpac-dance.com to request a packet or stop by the front desk to pick up an audition packet that week.

APRIL NEWSLETTER

A lot is happening in the coming weeks, and this newsletter is packed with important updates, reminders, and opportunities you won’t want to miss. Please take a few minutes to read through everything carefully. 

ACCOUNT BALANCES

  • All account balances must be paid in full in order to receive your Spring Recital Ticket code to purchase tickets.  
  • If your dancer is auditioning for the 25-26 competition teams, your account balance must be paid in full to be eligible to audition.

2025 SUMMER CLASSES

  • Want to dance with us from June 3 – June 26?  We are offering a 4-week session for dancers ages 2-10!
  • Please visit our Summer Schedule page for class offerings, pricing, dates, and enrollment information.
  • Current family enrollment for summer classes only will begin online April 7 at 5:30 pm and close April 11 at 5:30 pm.  

SPRING RECITALS AND CLASS ATTENDANCE

  • Students who acquire more than 3 absences (per class) now through May 9 may not be allowed to participate in the Spring Recital Performances (illness and weather-related absences do not count).
  • Please communicate all absences to cpac@cpac-dance.com.

SPRING RECITAL PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

  • Spring Recital Dates: May 16, 17 & 18. For recital breakdowns, please click here. (Please note this is not the show order for each performance)
  • Dress Rehearsal Week: May 12 – May 15, detailed information will be handed out in classes week of April 7 – 11!
  • We are excited to announce SilverBox Photographers will take photos again this year during dress rehearsal week. Details to follow closer to dress rehearsal.

SPRING RECITAL TICKET SALES INFORMATION

Spring Recital ticket purchases will be online only again this year. 4 tickets per family performing in each show will go on sale Electronically with your family code beginning Friday, April 11 at 5:00 pm and closing Monday, May 5 at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each, and this includes the electronic processing fee.

Each family performing in each performance will receive an email (multiple emails if you are in multiple shows) with a code specific to your family to purchase up to your 4 tickets for the performance. The email will be from Columbia Performing Arts Centre: noreply@jackrabbittech.com. Please check your junk folders and your inbox. All codes/emails will be sent no later than Thursday, April 10.

All codes not utilized and all remaining tickets for each performance will go on sale electronically on Monday, May 5, at 5:00 pm.

2025-2026 COMPETITION AUDITIONS

Mark your calendars for 2025-2026 Competition Team Audition Dates!! Information packet & registration forms will be available beginning Monday, April 7. Email competition@cpac-dance.com to request further information.

MARCH NEWSLETTER

2025 CPAC COMPETITION SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

Our amazing Competition Teams are hosting their Annual Competition Showcase Friday, March 14 at 7pm & Saturday, March 15 at 1pm and 7pm.  Come watch our award-winning Ensemble, Troupe, MiniTroop, & Collective Teams perform! MARCH 3 – MARCH 7: OPEN CURTAIN WEEK (Recreational Classes Only)

Parents are welcome to observe recreational classes the week of March 3 – 7.  Instructors will open all curtains for viewing in Studios 1, 2, and 3. Classes in our East Wing (studios 5-6) will be displayed on the TV monitors as usual.  Classes in Studio 4 – parents may come upstairs for the final 15 minutes of class. Competition classes and rehearsals are closed to observation.

BRING A FRIEND WEEK: Movement, Dance I, Dance II, Dance III, Ballet Intro, Tap Intro, Jazz Intro 

Get ready for an exciting week at CPAC! From March 17 – March 21, dancers in the classes listed below can bring ONE friend to join them for a fun-filled dance class! No dance experience or special shoes needed! Friends should be close in age and wear comfy clothes.

  • Dance I (ages 4-5)
  • Dance II (ages 5-6)
  • Dance III (ages 6-7)

The studio will be closed for spring break from Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, March 30. Classes will resume on Monday, March 31. We hope everyone has a wonderful break!

JANUARY NEWSLETTER

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and a Happy New Year! Classes begin January 6. We will provide any updates related to the weather no later than 1:30 pm on Monday.

CPAC COMPETITION SEASON BEGINS

CLASSES IN SESSION
Classes ARE in session on Monday, January 20 (Martin Luther King Jr Day) & Monday, February 17 (President’s Day). Our next break at CPAC is Spring Break. CPAC will be closed March 22 – March 30, 2025. Classes resume on Monday, March 31.

COMPETITION SHOWCASE: March 14 & 15, 2025
Save the date and come see our award-winning Competition teams perform at the CPAC Theatre on Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15! All styles and ages will perform each day. Further details will be provided in our February newsletter.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES
The Winter months are upon us and that brings the possibility of severe weather and cancelled classes. We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools does. We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 1:30 pm for weekday classes. We will send out an EMAIL to everyone when classes are cancelled. We will also post any updates to Facebook (CPAC – Columbia Performing Arts Centre) and Instagram (Columbiaperformingartscentre)
