MARCH 3 – MARCH 7: OPEN CURTAIN WEEK (Recreational Classes Only)

Parents are welcome to observe recreational classes the week of March 3 – 7.  Instructors will open all curtains for viewing in Studios 1, 2, and 3. Classes in our East Wing (studios 5-6) will be displayed on the TV monitors as usual.  Classes in Studio 4 – parents may come upstairs for the final 15 minutes of class. Competition classes and rehearsals are closed to observation.

BRING A FRIEND WEEK: Movement, Dance I, Dance II, Dance III, Ballet Intro, Tap Intro, Jazz Intro 

Get ready for an exciting week at CPAC! From March 17 – March 21, dancers in the classes listed below can bring ONE friend to join them for a fun-filled dance class! No dance experience or special shoes needed! Friends should be close in age and wear comfy clothes.

Eligible Classes Outlined Below: 

• Movement for Children (ages 3-4)
• Dance I (ages 4-5)
• Dance II (ages 5-6)
• Dance III (ages 6-7)
• Intro Levels (Ballet, Tap & Jazz) (ages 6-9)

SPRING BREAK – STUDIO CLOSED

The studio will be closed for spring break from Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, March 30. Classes will resume on Monday, March 31. We hope everyone has a wonderful break!

ATTENDANCE FOR PERFORMING CLASSES IN SPRING RECITAL

Students who acquire more than 3 absences (per class) from February 3 through May 9 may not be allowed to participate in the Spring Recital Performances. Weather-related absences and illness do not count as one of the three. All students are required to attend Dress Rehearsal week of May 12 – 15, 2025. Dress rehearsal details will be announced after spring break.

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and a Happy New Year! Classes begin January 6. We will provide any updates related to the weather no later than 1:30 pm on Monday.

CPAC COMPETITION SEASON BEGINS

CLASSES IN SESSION
Classes ARE in session on Monday, January 20 (Martin Luther King Jr Day) & Monday, February 17 (President’s Day). Our next break at CPAC is Spring Break. CPAC will be closed March 22 – March 30, 2025. Classes resume on Monday, March 31.

COMPETITION SHOWCASE: March 14 & 15, 2025

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES
The Winter months are upon us and that brings the possibility of severe weather and cancelled classes. We do NOT automatically cancel classes when Columbia Public Schools does. We try to make our decisions about cancellations by 1:30 pm for weekday classes. We will send out an EMAIL to everyone when classes are cancelled. We will also post any updates to Facebook (CPAC – Columbia Performing Arts Centre) and Instagram (Columbiaperformingartscentre)
