JOSIE CAMDEN

Like many parents of little girls, mine enrolled me in my first dance class at the age of three. At this time they never would have expected for this small dance class to lead to an art form that is such an important part of my life. After one class didn’t seem to be enough, my parents enrolled me in more until I joined the CPAC competition team. For the last 12 years I’ve had the privilege to call CPAC my home-away-from-home. I can’t imagine spending my free time anywhere else. Day in and day out I have spent numerous hours practicing, performing, and creating memories that I will have for a lifetime. This CPAC family is so incredible and I’m blessed to be a part of it. As sad as I am that I won’t be a full-time part of this studio after this year, I am very happy to say I will be dancing wherever I go. I will always carry the inspiration of those who have made me love dance so much. A giant, loving thank you to my family for being understanding and allowing me to head down this path, even though it has been challenging for them at times. To all my CPAC sisters, thank you for always being there for me. I will miss your laughter and your company. I would like to thank the costume shop for always making everyone look so great on stage and doing it with such enthusiasm! To all the behind-the-scenes staff, well done! Without you, things wouldn’t run so smoothly. For all our fabulous teachers, both present and past, thanks for pushing me to do my best and for encouraging & supporting me through it all. I love you, I love you, I love you! Jen, thank you for your constant love and support; you’re like a second mom to me. Last, but foremost, I want to thank Nancy for this beautiful, amazing studio and for all the great opportunities she has made possible over the years. Words cannot express my THANKS for making these last 12 years so great! Chaka!!!

WOW! Is it my time to be leaving? First and foremost, I want to thank my family for supporting me through my competition years. Mom, I could not have gone this far if it wasn’t for your love and constructive criticism! Thank you to the other CPAC families for your smiles and support system, the costume shop for making me look my best, Lindsey, for keeping me on schedule, Kristen for working on my technique and pushing me to be my best, Jen, for welcoming me into your heart and giving me your wisdom. I don’t know how I’m going to make it every day without your hugs, but when I’m dancing, it will always be me and you, just us two! Love you to infinity and beyond. Katie, you are my rock! I can always count on you! You are my soul sister. Keep sending those positive thoughts. Mrs. Nancy Laurie, thank you, those two words do not even express my gratitude for all the doors you have opened for me over the years. I am forever grateful! To my fellow dancers, thank you for your inspiration and fierce competition! To my “FIVE”, we will always be “Blood Brothers”! LOVE, CHAKA, OUT!
